Area Sales Manager, Zagreb

Our client, a well established group in the industry of FMCG is looking for a professional to lead the sales team in Zagreb


The Responsibilities:

  • Set sales targets for whole team, aligning with company and channel strategies and ensure timely delively
  • Lead strategic selling process by aligning, selling and executing business objectives with customers with/ through the team:
  • Establish maintain and expand customer base
  • Collect customer feedback, perform sales analysis and turn emergent trends into quickly capitalized opportunities
  • Recommend resource allocation to key accounts in the area, in conjunction with the marketing team and channel specialists, following customers’ needs
  • Follow all the commercial policies, campaigns and incentives
  • Monitor and report competitive activities and new happenings in the area
  • Facilitate and get fully involved in some major customers’ meetings, build relations based on high professional standards
  • Ensure understanding of the deal with customers and internally, in terms of commitments, resources needed and timelines
  • Facilitate brilliant execution through the team for all agreed activations
  • Manage the budget for delivering outlet presence standards maximizing return on investment
  • Ensure trade contracts compliance, in line with agreed plans to drive maximum return on our investments
  • Organize market visits on a national level in both On/Off trade accounts in coordination with Brand Managers and Trade Marketing Team
  • Manage, develop, coach and motivate the team by providing them with challenging individual targets and KPIs – step change the team to deliver higher execution standards and professionalism. Effectively assess sales team, based on the performance management process
  • Actively participate in recruiting, coaching and training of all team members
  • Manage incentives for direct reports and provide input for target setting and compensation decisions
  • Perform any other role related tasks that may be assigned


The individual:

  • University diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the FMCG or consumer goods industry, preferably beverages
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Great commercial understanding of the On Trade environment is an advantage
  • Fluency in English
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent Negotiations skills
  • Leadership skills and ownership
  • Customer focused
