General Manager, Nicosia – GMN/09/20

Our client, a well established group operating in the retail industry, is searching for a high caliber professional to lead the company.

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities

The right professional will report to the Board of Directors and his or her responsibilites will focus to direct, promote and coordinate the operations of the group in a manner that will optimize companies’ results, improve companies’ efficiencies, achieve business goals resulting in outstanding customer service.

The General Manager’s responsibilities involve managing the group, focusing on service, operations, sales & profit, marketing and any other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

The General Manager will maintain a positive attitude that will promote a favourable image of the Group.

 

  • Maximizes financial performance and profit
  • Leads Group strategic planning and implements strategic goals and objectives
  • Implements projects that include marketing, sales, purchasing, accounting/finance, HR, IT, Warehouse & Logistics
  • Prepares budget and sales forecast
  • Accurately forecasts sales monthly, weekly and daily for the purpose of forecasting cost to P&L
  • Prepares and /or reviews financial/operating reports, summarizes progress on short- and long-range plans and takes actions based on results
  • Oversee sales, ordering, distribution, pricing and customer service
  • Takes on primary responsibility for efficient, cost effective operations
  • Manages all departments daily (Operations, HR, Marketing, Accounting, Commercial/Retail, IT, Warehouse & Logistics) / Reviews departmental results based on targets set
  • Establishes clear departmental objectives and individual goals
  • Leads the managerial team and creates the vision to meet business goals
  • Follows company’s policies and procedures to ensure safety and security in business
  • Leads stores to deliver the brand story and customer experience through performance management
  • Creates a positive culture linked to corporate culture
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, community, government, organizations and employees; enforcing ethical business practices
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
  • Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division managers
  • Leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee engagement; develop a high performing managerial team
  • Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Keeps up with current trends in the industry and modern business practices
  • Overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company
  • Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits

Position’s Requirements

  • Acquiring a degree in business management, economics or any other related field
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a top management position
  • Proven skills in business and financial management
  • Comprehensive knowledge from operations, processes and business implications
